Enabling PSP Automatic restart through serial port configuration :
To enable PSP to open a communication serial port correctly configured during bootup use admintool
-
#admintool
-
Browse -> Serial Port -> Modify or Add
to modify or define the serial port which will be used.
-
Select "Terminal-Hardwired" template then click on button "OK"
-
Quit admintool
Then verify the configuration with pmadm as follows :
-
pmadm -l
-
This will generate something like this :
PMTAG PMTYPE SVCTAG FLGS ID <PMSSPECIFIC>
zsmon ttymon ttya u root /dev/term/a I - /usr/bin/login - 9600
...
zsmon ttymon ttyb ux root /dev/term/a I - /usr/bin/login - 9600
...
-
In the above example, ttya has a port monitor (getty) running (FLGS=u), and ttyb does not have a port monitor running (FLGS = ux)
-
To disable the port monitor on ttya, use the command :
pmadm -d -p zsmon -s ttya
then rerun pmadm -l to ensure that both entries have FLGS=ux (disabled)
Note : if you have problems with /dev/ttya(b) use alternate ports /dev/cua/a(b)
These commands are suppported by all the SUN Sparc stations and servers.
